You know, every time you update any Adobe product (web product as far as I know), it has a little section about the Google Toolbar for IE. Every time it's checked as if it's something that you can't live without. Every time, you have to uncheck it if you don't want that trash polluting your system.
Why does Adobe give in to this low life tactic of Opt Out? It's because Google very well knows that Everyone just clicks Next. It's because Google is playing number games with the number of installations so they can say that they are the most "used" toolbar. It's probably because some really bone-headed agreement because Google is supplying their Search support for their website.
I sent Adobe an email complaining about this. And that wasn't an easy task. As is typical with most companies, it's basically impossible to find an email address to send questions or issues to. After navigating through a couple dozen support pages, I finally found where I can "Open a Case" and submitted my complaint. We'll see where this goes. I'll post any replies I get here.
Here's what I had to say:
I'm submitting this to complain about your products installing the Google Toolbar. I do not like toolbars, they are of no use to me and polute my computer. Every time someone from my family gets a prompt to update one of your products, Google toolbar gets installed. Why do you have it as Opt Out? It should be Opt In! Please change this ASAP. This is really anoying and really hurts your image.
Update:
Well, I got a response back. One of Adobe's CSRs named Ricki sent me a response in the typical obligitory polite CSR way. Basically they copy and pasted a bunch of useless text from their answer clue book. To be fair, I did contact Customer Support instead of Technical support. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't think that this really required Technical Support, it was more of a really stupid thing that some bone-head thought up. Well, I digress, here's the response:
